Jennifer’s Body is hotter Megan Fox!

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Fifty-six percent of the audience for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen over the weekend was male, and of that 56 percent, 54 percent said the reason they were most interested in the movie was the chance to see copious amounts of Megan Fox’s cleavage (seriously: Look it up). Of course, a simple Google image search would’ve revealed 1,000 times the cleavage in one 150th of the time. But, I suppose men like to see it in motion

Well, they’re going to get another chance this September. The Diablo Cody scripted horror film, Jennifer’s Body comes out on September 18th, and it offers up not only Megan Fox’s cleavage, but covers it in Karo syrup and food coloring (oooh. Mammarifous stickiness).

Anyway, though it’s only three months away, there’s still no trailer and very little official has been released. However, Film School Rejects managed to unearth some images from Empire Magazine and post them online. They’re grainy as hell, but this is all we got so far. Take a look — here’s two images of Megan Fox and one of Amanda Seyfried (which is of far more interest to me). The movie is about a newly possessed cheerleader (Fox) that turns into a killer who specializes in offing her male classmates. Her best friend (Seyfried) attempts to prevent her. It’s all very Carrieesque.

Michael Jackson Public Viewing Friday

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson will be taken to his Neverland Ranch on Thursday for a public viewing Friday according to reports.

How public the public viewing will be isn’t clear, but interest in Jackson’s death may mean that demand to view the body may be far greater than capacity at the location.

Funeral arrangements for Jackson are still a little sketchy with some wild reports circulating. What we do know is that Jackson should be buried in a private ceremony in Santa Barbara on Saturday.

Some reports are suggesting that Jackson’s body will be taken to the cemetery in a carriage pulled by white horses, although this is unlikely.

Farrah Fawcett dies after a long fight with cancer

Friday, June 26, 2009

Farrah Fawcett dies after a long fight with cancerActress Farrah Fawcett has died after a long fight with anal cancer at the age of 62.

Fawcett first shot to fame in 1976 playing the role of Jill Munroe in the TV series Charlie’s Angels. After Charlie’s Angels, Fawcett moved on to become a critically acclaimed actress, appearing in a number of highly regarded television movies including The Burning Bed, Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story, Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story and Margaret Bourke-White.

Although critically acclaimed, Fawcett never managed to land a major award, despite three Emmy nominations and six Golden Globe Award nominations.

Originally married to Lee Majors, in 1982 Fawcett started a relationship with actor Ryan O’Neal, a love that despite never resulting in marriage, saw the pair stay together until the very end. A report earlier this week stated that the pair were to marry, although it’s not clear at this stage whether they managed to tie the knot before the end.

Fawcett was first diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, but went into remission after treatment. Sadly the cancer returned in May 2007, and Fawcett has been seeking treatment, including chemotherapy and embryonic stem-cell treatments since that time.

She is survived her partner Ryan O’Neal, and their son Redmond O’Neal.

Brad Pitt calls Mel Gibson 'sugar tits' at awards show

Monday, June 22, 2009

Brad Pitt poked fun at Mel Gibson by calling him "sugar tits" at the Guys Choice Awards. Gibson wore a Viking helmet as he rode into the testosterone-fuelled show on horseback.

He took the mickey out of his iconic Braveheart speech by shouting: "They can take away our lives but they'll never take our balls." Gibson then presented the Guy Hall of Fame award to Fight Club stars Pitt and Ed Norton and director David Fincher. On accepting the award, Pitt poked fun at Gibson and famous comments he allegedly made during his 2006 drink-driving arrest by saying: “Thanks, sugar tits!”

Obama announces agreement with drug companies

obama drugWASHINGTON (AP) — President Obama on Monday welcomed the pharmaceutical industry's agreement to help close a gap in Medicare's drug coverage, calling the pact a step forward in the push for overhaul of the health care system.

Obama said that drug companies have pledged to spend $80 billion over the next decade to help reduce the cost of drugs for seniors and pay for a portion of Obama's health care legislation. The agreement with the pharmaceutical industry would help close a gap in prescription drug coverage under Medicare.

"This is a significant breakthrough on the road to health care reform, one that will make a difference in the lives of many older Americans," Obama said in the White House's Diplomatic Room.

Obama said the move will help correct an anomaly in the program that provides a prescription drug benefit through Medicare. Under the deal, drug companies will pay part of the cost of brand name drugs for lower and middle-income older people in the so-called "doughnut hole." That term refers to a feature of the current drug program that requires beneficiaries to pay the entire cost of prescriptions after initial coverage is exhausted but before catastrophic coverage begins.

"It's a reform that will make prescription drugs more affordable for millions of seniors and restore a measure of fairness," Obama said.

Obama said some Medicare beneficiaries will find at least a 50% discount on prescription drugs. Obama says drug companies stand to benefit when more Americans can afford prescription drugs.

The drug companies' investment would reduce the cost of drugs for seniors and pay for a portion of Obama's proposed revamping of health care. The deal was struck with Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, as well as the White House.

The president was joined Monday in announcing the deal by Barry Rand, head of the senior citizens' advocacy group AARP, as well as Baucus and Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn.

"This is an early win for reform," Rand said.

Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal to Wed

Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal to WedRyan O'Neal says he and longtime love Farrah Fawcett are tying the knot.

"I've asked her to marry me, again, and she's agreed," O'Neal, 68, tells Barbara Walters in an exclusive interview on ABC's 20/20, airing Friday, June 26.

O'Neal says the 62-year-old Fawcett - who was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 - is now "fighting for her life."

But he says they "will" wed "as soon as she can, say yes. ... Maybe we can just nod her head."

"I promise you, we will," he told Walters. "Absolutely."

The actor says he and Fawcett have even joked about what he'll wear for the ceremony, kidding that he'll dress "like a gigolo. You know? And a little thin mustache and slicked-back hair. I don't know. We have fun, we tease about that."

The two -- who have a 24-year-old son Redmond (who is now in rehab following previous drug convictions) -- began dating in 1980 and have lived together.

"I used to ask her to marry me all the time," O'Neal tells Walters. "But ... it just got to be a joke, you know. We just joked about it."

In May, O'Neal told NBC News that he has fallen more in love with Fawcett as he watches her bravely battle cancer.

"I know this, that in the last two years I loved her more than I've ever loved her - ever," he told Meredith Vieira. "She's so much more of a woman ... powerful, courageous, fearless and all those adjectives. And I look at her with awe."

Megan Fox Single, Longing for Rain!

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Megan Fox has no qualms about publicly declaring her love for people. After all, this is a woman who told anyone with an ear and a press badge that she'd like to sleep with actress Olivia Wilde. Now she's apparently moved on to Korean pop stars.

While making the Transformers press rounds in Europe, Fox said 26-year-old R&B singer (and budding actor) Rain is the new hotness, in her eyes: "There is this Korean Justin Timberlake named Rain, and I'm really on his situation now. I'm trying to fix this up. I'm working hard."

What she's trying to fix up, exactly, isn't clear. But her comparison to America's favorite former teen-pop superstar is a bold statement, indeed. After checking out one of his music videos, we have to at least give Rain props for his decent choreographed moves. Rain, a.k.a. Jeong Ji-hoon, is a pretty big star on his native continent, and like Justin, he also acts and has a clothing line.

Internet Security: 8 Proven Tactics to Eliminate Threats from Spam, Viruses, and Hackers

Sunday, May 17, 2009

As an online business owner, you face treacherous Internet security risks every single time you're online. Viruses, hackers, and spam await you at every turn. The reality is that these threats are always going to be a component of being online and doing business online. Unfortunately, they seem to be here to stay.

Given that, there are a number of precautions you can take to make yourself, your business and the visitors to your site as safe as possible. Here are 8 tactics proven to enhance your Internet security:

1. Virus Protection.
Make sure you have the latest virus updates installed on your computer and let the software thoroughly scan your entire computer daily to ensure that no viruses successfully planted themselves on your hard drive. Set your virus checker to scan your email when it downloads, as well.

I use AVG Free to scan both my computer and my email. They also have a fee-based version that provides complete Internet protection. McAfee and Norton also offer similar products.

For spyware and malware protection, I use CounterSpy. The company that makes this software also has a new product to protect against viruses and spyware called VIPRE.

2. Spam Blocker.
I have a spam blocker that I use with Outlook called Cloudmark Desktop that does a great job of helping me train my email program to recognize spam. What I like about this program is that the program users tell Cloudmark what spam arrives in their inboxes, and the programmers update Cloudmark accordingly to recognize those kinds of emails. Other spam blocker programs include IHateSpam and MailWasher.

3. Web hosting Spam Blocker. To block spam before it even hits my Outlook inbox, one of my hosting accounts offers Postini spam blocking on my server. I pay a few dollars extra each month to add this service, but it is well worth it, as it routinely blocks at least 100 emails per day that are spam. I always have the option to log into that account if I am missing an email that may have ended up there accidentally, and I can "whitelist" the sender so that it goes though without a problem the next time. Every night this service sends me a list of emails that are questionable (i.e. the service isn't sure if it's spam), and I quickly scan them to approve any that have been misidentified.

4. Email Address Spam.
One of the easiest ways your email address gets added to massive lists of spammed email addresses is by including a clear link to your email address on your website. Spambots routinely patrol the Internet looking for readily available email addresses to harvest online. Even if you have the link "cloaked" by saying "click here to email", which will bring up your email address in the visitor's email program, the spambot is able to read the HTML sourcecode and harvest the email address.

Instead, remove your email address off of all of your websites. Use a contact form for people to email you that incorporates CAPTCHA technology (where the form filler has to read a graphic representation of a word or set or numbers to prove that s/he isn't a spambot). I use the free version of Freedback for this task.

5. Discussion List Spam. If your email address must appear on any discussion lists, blog posts, or forum postings, use a free email address like the ones available at Gmail or Yahoo. In this way, you protect your "real" email address from being picked up by spambots.

6. Catch-All Email Address.
If your web host company permits, create a catch-all email address that receives all email not specifically marked for a set POP email address or email forward you may have set up. When you sign up for someone's free giveaway, for example, that will add you to their marketing list you can then enter an email address that reminds you of the site or giveaway where you used it.

For example, if I'm signing up for Jane Smith's free dog training tips report, I might use dogtraining@mydomain.com, which will then end up in my catch-all domain email address. In this way, you don't have to give away your "real" email address, and you can determine if the list holder sells or rents your email address to another. So, then, if you suddenly begin to get emails to your dogtraining@mydomain.com address from a dog food company you've never heard of, you'll know that Jane sold or rented your email address to them.

7. Firewalls and Hackers.
Make sure that you are using Windows firewall protection, at a minimum, to protect your computer from being hacked while you're online. Or, use a free firewall like ZoneAlarm. You can also upgrade for a fee to get enhanced protection.

If you use a wireless router, be sure to set a password to secure it so that anyone passing by your home or office cannot hijack your signal and potentially hack your computer. I was resetting the wireless connection on my laptop just last week and discovered that there were 3 unsecured wireless connections in my neighborhood. I live in a residential section with no businesses, so I know that these were unsecure wireless routers in my neighbors' homes.

8. Secure Server. If you're selling something online, either your website hosting account or your shopping cart provider needs to have a security certificate so that any monetary transactions can be made over a secure server. You can check to see if your checkout process is secure by looking for https:// in the address window of your browser when browser when you are on the payment page of your site/shopping cart. Some browsers will also show a gold locked padlock icon when you are on a secure server.
